Nearly everyone in Beijing speaks Mandarin, the national language of China, but many also speak a local dialect whose pronunciations can vary greatly. The Hotel is conveniently located in the centre of the city's business, shopping, entertainment and cultural areas. Beijing¨s financial street is located approximately 25 minutes by car from the Hotel, and about 25 minutes by car to CBD.
Visas
Visas are required for all foreigners entering mainland China with the exception of passport holders from Brunei, Japan and Singapore who can enjoy visa-free access to China for not more than 15 days.
Standard tourist visas, valid for 30-day visits, are generally easy to acquire, while visas valid for more than 30 days are more difficult to obtain.

Currency
The unit of money in China is called Renminbi. Credit cards are accepted in major hotels as well as the Friendship stores. Credit cards as well as US dollars are widely accepted in major hotels and shops.
Dress
Dress is generally informal in China except on social, diplomatic occasions; a suit and tie for formal occasions is widely accepted. Dressing modestly is advisable.
Winter in the north demands heavy clothing, with fleece-lined jackets and earmuffs being advisable as the temperature can drop to bitter temperatures with strong winds. Very light clothing in the summer will be adequate, especially in the South. |
